Many people ask me, “How does this all work?” So, I want to take you through the steps with a little more detail, so you can fully appreciate what the process of booking a portrait session with me looks like—from beginning to end.

Whether you’re booking a family session, newborn photoshoot, cake smash, or senior portraits, I strive to make the experience smooth, enjoyable, and tailored just for you. Here’s what to expect when you choose to capture your memories with Little Fox Photography:

1. The Consultation – Let’s Bring Your Vision to Life

Once you’ve reached out and inquired about booking a session with Little Fox Photography, we kick things off with a personalized, FREE in-person consultation—usually scheduled within a week of your inquiry.

By this point, I’ve already asked a few questions to get a feel for your vision—what type of session you're dreaming of, who will be included, and any special touches you have in mind. During our meeting, you’ll have a chance to see and feel the luxury portrait products I offer, including heirloom-quality wall art, museum-grade canvases, fine art albums, and keepsake folio boxes. These are not your average prints—they’re handcrafted pieces designed to last for generations.

We'll also go over pricing, payment plans, and collection options, along with all the bonus perks that come with booking your session. If you love what you see (and I truly think you will!), we’ll secure your date and complete your booking on the spot.

Not 100% sure of your vision yet? No stress—that’s exactly what I’m here for. Whether it’s choosing the right location, deciding on wardrobe colors that photograph beautifully, or curating a session that tells your story, I’ll help guide you every step of the way.

3. The Photoshoot – It’s Your Time to Shine

Ah yes… the big day! This is hands-down one of my favorite parts of the entire experience. After all the planning, prep, and excitement—it’s finally time to bring your vision to life in front of the lens.

First things first: don’t be afraid to go all out.

This is your moment, and I encourage you to treat it like the special occasion it is. Moms—book that hair and makeup appointment, get your nails done, pamper yourself a little! Everyone—freshen up with haircuts (ideally 5–7 days before the session), hydrate, and wear what makes you feel confident and beautiful. These images will live on your walls, in albums, and on gifts for your family for years to come—you deserve to feel your best.

Sessions typically last about an hour, depending on the type of session and location. We’ll meet at our selected spot and move through the space together, taking a mix of posed and candid portraits. I guide you every step of the way—but I also love when you speak up. See a spot that catches your eye? Want to try a fun pose or bring your own prop? I’m all in.

This part of the process is all about you—your personality, your story, your season of life. Want to bring a blanket and board games for a picnic vibe? Let’s do it. Is your family into soccer, hiking, or baking cookies? Bring those pieces of your life into the session. The best photos are often the most personal and playful.

One quick tip for families with little ones: be sure kiddos are well-fed or at least have a snack before arriving. A happy belly = happy smiles. 😊

No matter what kind of session you're booking—family portraits, maternity, senior, milestone, or cake smash—I promise we’ll have fun, laugh a lot, and capture something truly meaningful.

4. The Editing – Where the Magic Happens ✨

If I’m being honest… editing might be my favorite part. And not just because I get to sip coffee and binge-watch my latest Netflix obsession while I work (though that is a nice perk 😅).

It’s because this is the part where your images truly come to life. We’ve planned every detail, styled the perfect session, and now I get to turn your portraits into stunning pieces of art.

During the editing process, I carefully go through each selected image and add my signature touch. Every photo includes complimentary color and tone adjustments, skin smoothing, blemish fixes, and light retouching to ensure your final gallery looks polished, natural, and beautiful—without looking overdone.

This process typically takes 7–10 days, depending on the session and season. Once your gallery is ready, I’ll reach out to schedule your in-person reveal and ordering appointment, which we’ll usually hold within the following week.

This is where the excitement really starts to build—because you finally get to see the story we’ve created together.

5. The Reveal & Ordering Appointment – Get Ready to Fall in Love ❤️

I’ve said that the photoshoot and editing are my favorite parts… but this? This is going to be YOUR favorite step—hands down.

Your reveal and ordering appointment is the moment you finally get to see all of your beautifully edited images for the first time. We sit down together and go through your full gallery—first, just to soak it all in. (Pro tip: bring tissues. Happy tears are basically guaranteed.)

Then, we go back through your favorites, and I’ll walk you through the process of choosing how you'd like to display and preserve your images. From wall art and heirloom albums to museum-quality canvases and fine art prints, I’ll guide you in building a custom collection that fits your family, style, and space.

Once you’ve made your selections, we’ll finalize your order. All sales are completed during the reveal appointment, and I’m happy to offer flexible payment plan options if needed. Best of all, every printed image you purchase includes a complimentary matching digital file, delivered via a beautiful, easy-to-access online gallery.

This part of the process is emotional, exciting, and incredibly rewarding. These are the memories you’ll look back on for years to come—and seeing them turned into art is truly something special.

6. Product Delivery – The Final Touch 🎁

Once your order is placed, it’s time for me to work behind the scenes one last time.

All artwork and products are delivered directly to me so I can personally inspect and quality check every single item. From wall art and albums to folio boxes and prints, I make sure everything meets the high standards I’ve promised you—and nothing leaves my hands until it’s absolutely perfect.

Then comes the fun part: I carefully package your order in beautifully branded gift bags and keepsake boxes, adding that extra special touch to celebrate your memories.

Once everything is ready, I’ll reach out to schedule a pickup time that works for you.

It’s the final step in our journey together—but really, it’s just the beginning of you getting to enjoy and display your portraits every day in your home.

7. The Pick-Up – Time to Take Your Memories Home 🛍️

This is the easiest (and maybe the most exciting) part—your order is ready for pickup!

When you arrive, we’ll take about 5–10 minutes to go over each of your ordered items together. Everything is carefully packaged in gift bags or keepsake boxes, and you’ll receive a little something extra—a card with care instructions to help preserve your pieces for years to come.

Then, just like that, you're off to take your gorgeous new artwork home to display, share, and fall in love with all over again. Whether it's going up on your living room wall, placed in a memory box, or gifted to grandparents—these portraits were made to be seen and celebrated.
